The intelligence of crows is hotly contested. On the one hand, the intelligence of birds has never been especially well-regarded. Crows have very small brains in an absolute sense, and they don’t always appear to be smart. However, experiments like this one have started to raise questions about whether crows are smarter than people may have previously believed.

The crow in this video obviously understands that adding stones into a beaker of water is going to displace the water, and it will cause the water level to rise enough that the crow will be capable of retrieving the food inside the beaker. Throughout the video, the crow also manages to demonstrate a keen sense of other intellectual tasks. Many other animals would fail these tests.

People should please SHARE this video on Facebook, since it is entertaining to watch, and it is useful for getting a discussion going about animal intelligence.
