He thought it would be a good investment given the rising cost of housing and mortgages in the UK. He also wanted to be free and live an independent life.

Fortunately, he started to study carpentry.
His small house was his little project, and at the same time, it was a place to teach everything he studied at the school of carpenters. At the time, he had a meager income of $ 5.50 an hour, but managed to save $ 8,200 in his small home.

All materials and items in his small home are recycled or reused. He used all reclaimed larch wood to build fence panels and stairs. Fittings and even furniture were on sale at a discount.

Upon entering his house, you will see a beautiful living room.

According to Tom, if there are other people in his house, the table can be lowered and moved.

The kitchen is his favorite part of the house, and he is proud of something.

Upstairs there is a double mattress on which you can sleep comfortably. It is well ventilated and has beautiful windows with natural light. Remember the TV in the living room? He can turn it into an attic room!

It took a long time to complete the big house, but it was worth it.

“I have everything I have, I paid for everything – it’s all mine,” he told Living Big in Tiny House host Bryce Langston. “It’s a simple life and everything you have to create is yours,” he added.
He really is one of the lucky ones and he deserves it.

Tom dreamed of having a beautiful wasteland and a cart on his grandfather’s estate and, of course, worked for him. Time, money, blood, sweat – it all paid off; all worth it.
