Bristol, Connecticut. On Thursday, October 5, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m., a lone female, later identified as Suzanne LaPrice, age 51, entered the lobby of the Bristol Police Department at 131 North Main Street. She went to the reception window and knocked on the windows with a pistol. The reception desk was empty at this time. After knocking on the window, Laprise fired several shots through the window. The shells did not penetrate the armored glass.

Officers attempted to negotiate with Laprise. During these efforts, Laprise fired several more shots at the officers. Officer Spencer Boisvert then returned fire, shooting her twice. The bulletproof glass stopped the entire station and no one was hurt. As Laprise lowered her gun, officers entered the lobby, activated an electronic security device and took her into custody. Laprise was taken to Bristol Hospital for examination. She was later released and returned to Bristol Police Station.
