Jack, a large dog, was scared and depressed when he arrived at the Gloucester-Matthews Humane Society in Virginia. His sadness was so great that he hid his face in the corner of the nursery.

The Gloucester-Matthews Humane Society wrote that Jack should be adopted because he hides his face in a corner every time they enter their kennel. And they found that he was a little more alert when he was outside.

So, after a month at the shelter, Susie’s older dogs decided to find her a forever home. They wrote on Facebook that although Jack was afraid of the shelter, he never saw any aggression towards volunteers or staff.

They added that it was painful to think that he had lived alone all his life and that they wanted to find him a forever home.

Luckily, Susie’s older dogs have received many inquiries about Jack, who has heartworms, bad hips and precancerous kidney disease. Luckily, a sweet young woman came straight to the shelter to meet Jack and his canine companion.

The meeting was so wonderful that the woman immediately fell in love with Jack, and he was friendly with her. So they decided to adopt her to live with another partner. What a happy ending!
