Petey, a one-year-old dog, was transferred to SPCA Wake in early October last year after spending his entire life at an elite shelter in North Carolina.

Since then, Petey has lived in the orphanage the longest since no one was interested in adopting him. The staff did their best to find him a permanent home, but no one cared. However, they did not abandon him and decided to do everything possible to find him a permanent home.

So they shared a photo of him on their Facebook story, hoping someone would fall in love with him and adopt him. Fortunately, a few weeks later, the photo was seen by the family who came to the shelter to visit Petey. The family decided to adopt Petya, so it was love at first sight.

The shelter also shared a photo of Petey as they know he is coming home. A wide smile will appear on his face. The photo went viral and warmed the hearts of netizens, the shelter, and, of course, his family. Luckily, the dog loves to play with his new sibling and is settling in well with his new family.

He also loves all the people and dogs he meets. That’s what love can do in someone’s life! Watch the video below.
