Hanisa, a baby elephant, was found trapped in a private game reserve near the border with the Kruger National Park in South Africa.
The pink-skinned elephant was found with serious wounds on the back of his head and both ears, and his cheek was cut into his mouth with a trap. He also had a hole in his mouth from exposed flesh eaten by a bad insect.
Fortunately, Hanisa, who was stuck for 4 days, was rescued in time by a special shelter called HERD (Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development) in South Africa.
He is now spending time in his new home until he fully recovers. Sue Howells said that the elephant is very cute and friendly. He just wants to live a normal life like other elephants. Once his body and mind are restored, he will be released into the herd. Watch the video below.
