The Amazon forest is on fire. It’s still not clear how many fires started, but an appalling confession by an indigenous woman has come online, claiming that their village in the heart of the forest was intentionally burned by people.
The arson, she said, was due to the desire of many who want even more money.
In a video posted on the Twitter network, we can hear the confession of a local native who says that people burned their village seen in the background.
All just to set up pastures there and convince foreign investors to invest.
Here is the translation of what she said: “For 2 years we’ve fought to preserve [our reservation] & these a**holes came in & burned it down. They are killing our rivers, our sources of life, & now they have set our reserve on fire. Tomorrow we are closing the roads & I want all the media here to see this.”
People are deliberately starting fires in the #AmazonRainforest to illegally deforest indigenous land for cattle ranching
