14-year-old Darci Lynne Farmer earns a wildcard for another shot at winning America’s Got Talent: The Champions. This teen ventriloquist quickly shot to fame after winning the twelfth season of America’s Got Talent in 2017. After earning the coveted golden buzzer during her first audition, Darci Lynne easily won over the hearts of America with hilarious routines combined with a talented singing voice.
She introduced us to characters such as Petunia, Oscar and Edna. Week after week, she blew everyone away with her ability to sing difficult songs while operating the puppets. So, it’s no question why she was invited back to compete on ‘America’s Got Talent: The Champions.’ This special format features 50 contestants who have won or been featured on previous editions of the show. These competitors come from all over the world and now they’re all vying for the ultimate winner’s title. For her first performance, Darci Lynne brought her friend Oscar along and they sang a duet of “Nutbush City Limits” and “Proud Mary.”
Unfortunately, the teen did not advance to the next round. She was crushed to find out that her dreams of becoming the champion were over. But then, she received a call that she was going to be a wildcard contestant on the show and have another chance. Today, Darci Lynne is pulling out all the stops as she belts out the Italian opera song “O Mio Babbino Caro” with her puppet, Petunia.
The judges were in awe of the big voice coming from this talented teen. It was definitely a side of Darci Lynne no one has seen before. Judge Simon Cowell said, “I actually believe this, for so many reasons, is your best ever performance.” After this song, I definitely think Darci Lynne is a real competitor.
