I’ve heard a lot of different methods that are rumored to induce labor, but this has got to be one of the more unusual ones. When 32-year-old Bonnie Northsea heard that doing the “Thriller” dance would induce labor, I doubt she expected the video to go as viral as it has. Northsea filmed the video at 40 weeks pregnant; she originally intended for it to be a funny clip for her friends, but after realizing how well it was being received, she uploaded the video to YouTube.

In an interview with Yahoo Parenting, Northsea told reporters that her husband was recently diagnosed with testicular cancer and that the hype from her YouTube video has been nice as it has been giving her something new to think about. Northsea and her husband have a three-year-old son, and are expecting the arrival of their second son any day now. When Northsea interviewed with Yahoo Parenting on February 13 she was two days past her due date.
It’s obvious that Northsea’s family has a lot on their plate. I’m glad this video has provided the family with a little comic relief within a time of anxiety and worry.
